The Foreigner - Japan has
been online since March 2003, and has grown over the past year from
a modest 3,500 visitors for January 2004 to over 10,000 visitors
and over 50,000 page views for January 2005. Over the past year
we have experienced an average growth in number of visitors and
page views of 10% per month.
Our visitors mostly live in the United States and Canada (39%),
Japan (18%) and Europe (16%). We have high search engine rankings
on various Japan related keywords, and offer various incentives
for visitors to be active on our web site.
What we offer:
We offer several packages for advertising, but we are more than
willing to accomodate you should you have special requests. You
can purchase advertising per month or per number of impressions,
and for an additional fee we can increase the number of times your
advertisement is shown.
You can receive display and click through statistics by email at
any interval you desire, and you will be able to log
into our ad server to keep track of the most current statistics.
When your time is nearing the end, or your impressions are almost
used up, you will receive an email asking if you would like to extend
your advertisements, or purchase more impressions.
Advertisement sizes and locations:
You can choose from several packages, or we can create a custom
advertisement for you. These are the standard packages we offer:
- 468x60 full banner
above the fold, rotating, displayed on every page.
- 120x600 skyscraper
below the fold, rotating, not displayed on the photo
essays.
- 160x600 wide skyscraper
below the fold, rotating, not displayed on the photo
essays.
- Text only links
below the fold, not displayed on the photo essays.
- Premium link
on a links category of your choice a text link will be placed
at the top of the list.
above the fold, static, displayed on one links category.
Keyword targeting:
We can target your advertisement to specific content by using keywords.
For instance, if you sell kimonos you might want to consider targeting
your advertisements to pages containing words like "kimono",
"geisha" and "fashion". The advertisement will
be displayed on all pages that contain at least one of these keywords.
The more specific you are the better. Using a keyword like "Japan"
is useless because the word is found on all of our pages.
If you use keyword targeting in combination with a fixed number
of impressions you stand a good chance of increasing your click
through rate (CTR). By combining keyword targeting with advertising
per month you can reduce the costs of your advertisement. We will
determine by how much, depending on the keywords you use. A keyword
like "Japan" won't result in a price reduction of course.
Display frequency:
The number of impressions you get depends on your type of advertisement.
You can play it safe and purchase a set number of displays, or you
can purchase advertisement space for a period of time. If you decide
to opt for the advertisement per time frame you can, for an additional
fee, increase the likelihood that your banner will be shown.
Terms for
advertising:
The advertised or linked site cannot feature sexually explicit content
(including Hentai-anime), racist or otherwise inflammatory or offensive
content, warez or other program hacks, nor illegally distribute
copyrighted material such as music or videos, or engage in any other
illegal activity.
Though we cannot be held responsible for the content of advertised
and linked sites, we will occasionally monitor for inappropriate
content. If such content is found the link will be removed without
notice. This policy applies to all links going from our website.
We do not refund money if your link is removed for violation
of these terms.
Banner designs should not be misleading. Therefore they cannot
resemble Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh designs, nor can they
feature standard web-style buttons or "Yes/No/Cancel"
options. Animation is allowed, but should be non-intrusive, i.e.
no flashing or shaking effects, in order to be considered for placement.
The costs:
The costs vary per type of advertisement and can increase or decrease
depending on the combination of options. If you have a fixed budget
