Editor's Notes

It gives me great pleasure to welcome two new writers to The Foreigner, in this our 6th edition. Columnist Lenee Beaulieu is a single woman living in Japan who has agreed to write down her thoughts about working for 'The Man', and her experiences as a foreigner who's living in a country that is not her own. This month, you'll find her column under the title Upper Damagement.

Nancy Trueman is a practising arts student who plans to share her knowledge of the Japanese art world with book reviews, essays, and a wealth of other artistic information. Her first work for this magazine is an art book review, entitled Shoichi Aoki's "FRUiTS".

I'd also like to introduce photographer Michael Gozzard, who's stunning photography makes up our photo essay for this month. Gozzard looks for those "seemingly insignificant and easily overlooked details" which make his photography truly a pleasure to see.

With the start of the New Year came some wonderful news for The Foreigner - Japan. Our magazine was recently awarded a Golden Web Award for our creative talents, certainly a feather in our cap. I thank all of you who have taken the time to read our magazine this month, and I encourage all of you to send a letter to the editor if you have any comments about something you've read in the pages of The Foreigner - Japan.
