Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then I found these objects to hold a certain beauty of their own: the lowly manhole cover. From simple geometric patterns to more ornately designed ones, the Japanese iron covers I found in my area of Kansai display a unique blend of art and function. I hope others will share in the pleasure of viewing them.
